Conferences

Our group anually attends international and national conferences significant for the research field and present the papers with the most recent research results

CMFF'25 - Conference on Modelling Fluid Flows

Our research group from the Department of Thermal Engineering and Energy, “VINČA” Institute of Nuclear Sciences – National Institute of the Republic of Serbia, University of Belgrade, participated in the 19th International Conference on Modelling Fluid Flow (CMFF’25), held 26–29 August 2025 at the Radisson Blu Béke Hotel in Budapest, Hungary.
The presentation titled “Using Jacobi Method to Solve the Two-Equation Turbulence Model for Parallelization on GPU Computing Systems” was delivered by Ivan Tomanović, with co-authors Srdjan Belošević, Nenad Crnomarković, and Aleksandar Milićević. The work focused on adapting numerical solution strategies for turbulence models to GPU architectures, highlighting the suitability of the Jacobi method for efficient parallel implementation.
The presentation contributed to discussions on accelerating CFD simulations for engineering applications and attracted interest from both academic researchers and industry practitioners working on advanced computational methods in thermal and power engineering.

PowerPlants 2025 - INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE POWER PLANTS 2025

The International Conference Power Plants 2025 was successfully held this November at the Hotel Palisad in the heart of Zlatibor, Serbia, gathering experts to discuss the critical challenges of decarbonization and energy efficiency. Set against the scenic backdrop of the Zlatibor mountain resort, the venue provided an inspiring atmosphere for professionals to exchange ideas on the future of regional and global power systems. The event emphasized the integration of renewable energy sources and the modernization of thermal poiwer plants capacity, marking a pivotal step toward sustainable energy development in Southeast Europe.

PowerPlants 2023 - INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE POWER PLANTS 2023

Our team attended the International Conference “PowerPlants 2023”, held from 8–10 November 2023 at Zlatibor, which brought together professionals from power generation, thermal engineering, and energy system operation. During the conference, we followed technical sessions and panel discussions focused on power plant operation, efficiency improvements, decarbonization measures, and practical challenges in the energy sector. The event provided a valuable opportunity for direct exchange with researchers, plant operators, and industry experts, as well as insight into current trends and applied solutions in thermal and power engineering.

PowerPlants 2021 - INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE POWER PLANTS 2021

In 2021 we attended the International conference Power Plants 2021, which was held as the hybrid conference both online and as a live walk in event, due to COVID-19 pandemics, on the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, on the 17th and 18th November

Workshops

In order to gain insight into the most recent innovations and technologies in turbulence research and in fluid mechanics in general we attend workshops targeted to introduce current and future research directions to the scientific audience in the field.

Turbulence Workshop - International Symposium

Turbulence Workshop was held at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering between th 31st August and 2nd September 2015. The goal was the exchange of knowledge and findings between expirienced researchers, and allow PhD students to aquiere new knowledge, as well as to present their own results.

Science and technical fairs

Being the one of major stake holders in researches considering energy efficient and environmentally friendly systems, is of utmost importance to reach the general public. The goal is to provide the public with current status of delevlpment and the ongoing activities, as well as the status and implementation of current projects.

58th International Technical Fair 2013 - Project TR33018 Presentation

At the 50th International Technical Fair we presented the developed software package for simulation of processes inside the boiler furnace, as well as the software for thermal and hydraulic calculations of the pulverized coal fired boiler.
